Mai Manó Gallery („Kis Manó”)

It is a regular, annual programme at Hungarian House of Photography – Mai Manó House to present the works of the photographer awarded the Grand Prix of the Hungarian Press Photography competition, organised in cooperation with the Society of Hungarian Press Photographers each year. Béla Szandelszky was judged this prize for „His outstanding professional achievement in 2009” this year. Having completed the course at the Práter Street School of Photography, he started working at Népszabadság (1993), then at Népszava (1997) and Reform (1998). In Kosovo he was photojournalist for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (1998-1999).  He was picture editor for Budapest Week Publishing publications (2000-2002) and is currently photojournalist for Associated Press. He was awarded a Pulitzer memorial prize for his achievement in 2005.
