Prizes
Balazs Gardi is the only person who has been named ‘Photographer of the Year’ in Hungary three times. He has also been awarded numerous other prizes at the Hungarian Press Photo Contest in the past five years.
In 2000, he was chosen for a World Press Photo 'Joop Swart Masterclass' in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
He spent a term at Cardiff University’ School of Journalism and Media and Cultural Studies in Wales, with a grant from Reuters Foundation.
In the same year he was a finalist for the W. Eugene Smith Award.
Balazs Gardi is the 1st prize winner in the sports stories category of World Press Photo 2002.
He won two prizes on the Sixty-First Annual Pictures of the Year International Competition

- Magazine Division/Feature Picture Story/ Second Place
Balazs GÁRDI was selected for PDN's ‘30 under 30’ in 2004.
