A Móró Máté – Borbala Szanto alkotópáros a dolgok játékos kapcsolatait keresi. Céljuk, hogy szituációikban megtalálják a megfelelő egyensúlyt a véletlenszerű forgatókönyv és a gondosan felépített kompozíció között.

Szántó Borbála 2014-ben végzett képzőművészként a londoni Chelsea College of Arton. Ezt követően a londoni Royal College of Arton szerezte meg mesterdiplomáját szobrászatból. 2017-ben diplomázott, és ugyanebben az évben elnyerte a Matt’s Gallery / David Troostwyk Studio Díjat.

A gyakorlata középpontjában álló szobrászati, helyspecifikus environmentekben konstruált, fiktív terek teszik próbára a kortárs tekintetet.

Számos nemzetközi csoportos kiállításon való részvétel mellett 2018-ban volt első önálló kiállítása a londoni Matt’s Galleryben, Hyphen (Kötőjel) címmel. 2019-ben Választóvonalak címen nyílt önálló kiállítása a budapesti Trapéz Galériában, amely első bemutatkozása volt szülővárosában.

Jelenleg Párizsban és Dél-Franciaországban él és dolgozik.

Móró Máté a budapesti Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetemen szerezte alap- és mesterdiplomáját vizuális kommunikáció és fotográfia szakon. A svájci Zürcher Hochschule der Künste egyetemen eltöltött szemesztert is meghatározónak tekinti.

2013 óta dolgozik a fotográfia területén Londonban és Párizsban. Meglátja a szürreálisat a hétköznapokban, ahogy a test, a tárgyak és a tér között létező rejtett dinamikát is.

Jelenleg Párizsban és Dél-Franciaországban él és dolgozik.

Szántó és Móró 2018 óta kollaborál Matzo & Matzo néven. A kreatív duó fényképez, videókat rendez és a díszleteket tervez. A Matzo & Matzo megközelítésének lényegi vonása a játékos interakciók iránti érdeklődés. Csendéleteik egyik fő célja a megfelelő egyensúly megtalálása a jelenet esetlegessége és a kompozíció gondosan felépített volta között.

Nemzetközi szerkesztőkkel és ügyfelekkel dolgoznak együtt. Projektjeik egyebek mellett olyan magazinokban jelentek meg, mint a Fantastic Man, az M Le Magazine du Monde, a Pleasure Garden, a Vogue és a Wall Street Journal, ügyfeleik között pedig megtalálható a Chanel, a Louis Vuitton, a Loewe, a Mulberry és Stella McCartney.

The creative duo of Máté Móró and Borbala Szanto looks for the playful connections between things. They aim to find the right balance between random scenarios and carefully constructed compositions in the situations they create.

Borbala Szanto completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art at the Chelsea College of Art in London in 2014. She went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Sculpture at The Royal College of Art London. She graduated in 2017 and was recipient of the 2017 Matt’s Gallery / David Troostwyk Studio Award.

Constructed, fictive spaces challenge the contemporary gaze in the sculptural, site-specific environments that form the core of her practice.

Alongside participating in several international group exhibitions she also had her first solo exhibition in London in 2018 at Matt’s Gallery, entitled Hyphen. She had a further solo exhibition called OF Limits in 2019 at Trapéz Gallery, Budapest, which was the first presentation of the artist’s work in her native city.

She currently lives and works in Paris and the South of France.

Máté Móró completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Visual Communication and Photography at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest. He also spent a formative semester at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Switzerland.

Since 2013 he has been working in the field of photography in London and Paris. He has an eye for finding the surreal in the ordinary and for the hidden dynamics between body, objects and space.

He currently lives and works in Paris and the South of France.

Since 2018, Szanto and Móró also work in collaboration under the pseudonym Matzo & Matzo. Their creative duo works in the medium of photography, video direction and set-design. At the core of Matzo & Matzo’s approach lies an interest in playful interactions. Finding the right balance between an incidental scenario and a carefully constructed composition is a key incentive behind their still lifes.

Their duo works with editorial and commercial clients internationally. Their projects have been published in magazines such as Fantastic Man, M Le Magazine du Monde, Pleasure Garden, Vogue and Wall Street Journal, and their commercial commissions come from clients such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Mulberry and Stella McCartney, amongst others.
