The panoramic view angle made the size and density of the city almost tangible to me. This perspective required me to use my peripheral vision. My scanning glance proved to be the greatest method to thoroughly absorb it, similar to taking in the actual spectacle. At the same time, using this photographic tool to observe the metropolis from afar, then closer and closer, I was able to fully tame the urban turmoil. This view provides an experiential sense of space. The wide-angle panoramic lens is an extremely sharp, geometrically distortion-free lens that lets light through a 65mm x 24mm wide aperture onto the black and white negative. Through this 65mm-wide opening, the panoramic camera captured the life and buildings of the city. I was looking for a specific visual portrayal of the city's size, scale, and vastness, with its residential areas, towers, domes, and stadiums striving to entirely occupy the horizon. 65 mm | Budapest Panoramic Photo Essay | 2016 – 2024 | seeks to present a particular image of the city’s expansion, diversity, and growth. The ever-expanding city, the ever-growing agglomeration, extends its frame almost to the horizon, flaunting its limitlessness towards nature.
