A kollektív történelmen átfolyatott személyes narratívák adják tematikájának fő gerincét is. A romániai kommunizmus terrorja alatt élő magyar származású felmenőinek, hagyományokhoz, valláshoz, érzelmekhez való viszonya képeinek kiindulópontja. Személyes motivációja, hogy közelebb kerüljön a családjához, akinek legjobban őrzött titka a hitük, az anyanyelvük, a lelkük volt, amely erőteljesen meghatározta azt, hogy ő kicsoda. A képek rituálék, próbálnak felidézni valamit az elhagyott hagyományokból a múlt dramatizálásával, a beidegződött tabuk feloldásának kísérletével.

Bede Kincső 2021-ben diplomázott a Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetem Fotográfia mesterszakán, korábban a kolozsvári Babeș–Bolyai Tudományegyetemen tanult filmvágónak.

Munkáinak fő konfliktusa és örök dilemmája az, hogy hogyan tudnak a különböző történelmi tapasztalatokkal rendelkező generációk együtt élni, együttműködni a családi, illetve a tágabb közösségekben. Másik témája a kelet-európai társadalmakat feszítő, ki nem beszélt történelmi múlt, a szocializmus örökségének feldolgozása. Bár képeinek kiindulópontja mindig valami nagyon személyes élményhez, érzéshez köthető, képei túlmutatnak azon, hogy pusztán családi dimenzióban mutassák be a posztszocializmus életérzéseit.

Bede Kincső 2020-ban a Paris Photo által meghirdetett Carte Blanche pályázatán a négy nyertes alkotó egyike volt. A Három színt ismerek a világon című diplomamunkáját a BredaPhoto kurátorai beválasztották a 10 New Talent 2020 tehetségprogramjába. 2021-ben a GUP Magazin beválogatta Európa legtehetségesebb feltörekvő fotográfusai közé, ugyanabban az évben pedig őt jelölték a FUTURES Photography tehetséggondozó programjára. 2022-ben a PhMuseum Photography Grant harminc év alatti kategóriájában a zsűri dicséretében részesült.

2021-ben kiállították képeit az UNSEEN fotográfiai vásáron, és a Paris Photo Curiose szekciójába is bekerült. 2022-ben a Milánói PhotogVogue Fesztiválon és a Photo Israel Nemzetközi Fotófesztiválon állított ki.

A külföldi sajtóban rendszeresen elismeréssel írnak munkásságáról, továbbá képei szerepelnek a Blurring the Lines 2020-as kiadványában is.

Budapesten él és dolgozik. Magyarországon a TOBE Gallery (Budapest) képviseli.

Collective history infused with personal narratives also forms the backbone of Kincső Bede’s theme. How her Hungarian ancestors living under the terror of communism in Romania related to traditions, religion and emotions is the point of departure for her pictures. She is personally motivated to get closer to her family, whose best-kept secret was their faith, their mother tongue, their soul—something that strongly defined who she was. The images are rituals, trying to evoke something of the abandoned traditions by dramatizing the past, attempting to dissolve the ingrained taboos.

Kincső Bede received her MA in Photography from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2021, following studies in film editing at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj.

The main conflict and perennial dilemma behind her works is how generations with different historical experiences can live together and interact within families and wider communities. Another subject she explores is the insufficiently discussed historical past, the legacy of socialism that has been a source of tension in Eastern European societies. Whilst the starting point of her pictures is always connected to some very personal experience, her pictures go beyond showing the post-socialist mood in solely domestic dimensions.

In 2020, Kincső Bede was one of the four winners of the Carte Blanche competition organised by Paris Photo. Her thesis project, I Know Three Colours in the World was selected by the curators of BredaPhoto into the 10 New Talents 2020 talent programme. In 2021, GUP Magazine named her one of Europe’s most talented emerging photographers, and in the same year she was selected for the FUTURES Photography talent programme. In 2022, she received an honourable mention in the New Generation category of the PhMuseum Photography Grant.

In 2021, her photos were exhibited at the UNSEEN photography fair, and she was included in the Curiose section of Paris Photo. In 2022 she exhibited at the PhotogVogue Festival in Milan and the Photo Israel International Photo Festival.

Her work is regularly praised in the International press and her images are featured in Blurring the Lines’ 2020 publication.

She lives and works in Budapest. In Hungary she is represented by TOBE Gallery (Budapest).
